Wong Zhi Xuan Awarded Foreign Service Scholarship 2025
We are proud to share that our graduate, Wong Zhi Xuan, has been awarded the Public Service Commission Scholarship (Foreign Service) at the 2025 Foreign Service Scholarship Award Ceremony, held on 6 August 2025 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
At the ceremony, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, presented the awards to six scholars embarking on their journey with the MFA family. In his address, he reminded recipients that a scholarship is far more than a financial award; it is a solemn commitment to serve as diplomats for Singapore. He underscored the critical role of the Foreign Service in safeguarding our nation’s independence and sovereignty amidst a rapidly changing and uncertain global order.
Minister also urged the scholars to embrace intellectual humility, broaden their minds, and forge meaningful relationships with people from diverse backgrounds. While acknowledging the challenges ahead, he encouraged them to retain optimism and joy, as diplomats must always believe in the possibility of building a better and more connected world.
Congratulations to Zhi Xuan on this prestigious achievement! We wish him every success as he pursues his studies in the UK and prepares for a meaningful career representing Singapore on the global stage.
