Taiwan Immersion Trip 2025
Back in June, students from the Science and Math Talent Programme embarked on an immersion trip to Taiwan.
In the course of the trip, they visited two renowned partner schools in Taipei, Taipei First Girls' High School (北一女中) and Taipei Municipal Jianguo High School (建國中學). They also participated in lessons to experience different teaching styles and problem-solving approaches, while building meaningful friendships with their Taiwanese peers.
A highlight of the trip was a STEM upcycling workshop, where they repurposed discarded materials into phone chargers. This workshop combined innovation with environmental awareness, prompting them to think critically about sustainability while applying engineering principles. They also visited key cultural and historical sites, including the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, where they learnt about Taiwan’s modern history, and the 921 Earthquake Museum, which offered valuable insights into tectonic activity and why disaster preparedness matters.
The trip was a truly enriching experience where science, culture, and friendship came together, leaving the students with lessons that extend beyond the classroom.
