National Education Symposium 2025
On 3 June, Hwa Chong’s Students' National Education Council (SNEC) hosted the 3rd edition of the National Education Symposium (NES), bringing together more than 90 students from across Singapore for fruitful conversations!
NES 2025, themed “To Care, To Connect, To Contribute” in line with SG60, featured speakers from the National Youth Council, The Style Atelier, and SG Assist who shared insights on volunteerism, social impact, and caregiving. The panel discussion then featured Mr Dewin Lee from Care Community Services Society (CCSS) and Mr Limonium Sua from the Ministry of Culture, Community, and Youth (MCCY) who shared about the importance of building a connected society that cares for all its members.
In collaboration with CCSS, the “Brush & Brighten” activity saw participants donating dental kits accompanied by heartfelt messages to children from low-income families. One participant reflected that she felt “more drawn to helping children from underprivileged families” after the experience. After the event, another participant shared, “I learnt to empathise with the needs of people more,” while one was even inspired to “learn how to read braille” in order to better support the visually impaired.
Overall, NES 2025 was a resounding success. We hope it sowed the seeds of empathy, initiative, and purpose in every participant — empowering them to take a step forward and make a difference in their communities.
