Hwa Chong’s 64th President’s Scholar: Kaleb Teo
Kaleb received his scholarship from President Tharman Shanmugaratnam at a presentation ceremony at The Fullerton Hotel on 14 Aug 2025. As President Tharman noted, this prestigious award honours individuals identified by the Public Service Commission as demonstrating exceptional all-round excellence and strong leadership potential.
A proud alumnus of Hwa Chong Institution, Kaleb will be pursuing his studies at Oxford University.
During his time in HCI, Kaleb served as Secretary & Treasurer of the Student Engagement & Culture Committee (Students’ Council), where he guided major school events with vision and dedication, earning the title of Outstanding Councillor of the Year. His keen interest in law spurred him to pursue internships and earned him a commendation in the Robert Walker Law Essay Prize by Trinity College, Cambridge.
Beyond academics, Kaleb uplifts others through Project Guardian and The Migrant Project. A mature, trusted leader, he inspires with his intellect, compassion, and steadfast commitment to the greater good.
