HP Symposium 2026
Hwa Chong Humanities Programme (HP) students, alongside students from Art Elective Programme, Bicultural Studies Programme, Science Math Talent Programme, Computing Talent Programme, High School section, Nanyang Girls’ High School and students from the Humanities Programmes of other junior colleges, came together for the annual Hwa Chong Humanities Programme Symposium on 11 Mar 2026.
This year’s theme is “ Building Equitable Communities “, highlighting how citizens of today aim to ensure greater equality for all. This can be done via the examination of inequalities within Singaporean society that may be overlooked, alongside aims of exploring how inequality is produced, experienced and potentially addressed.
We were honoured to welcome back our distinguished alumni Nicolette Tan, Issac Ong, Kimberly Chia and Wong Yang, who joined us as guest panelists, providing eye-opening insights with the attendees.
Our C2 HP students also had the opportunity to present their capstone projects, spotlighting topics from legal resources for migrant populations to linguistic prejudice in countries such as Singapore and Taiwan. Individual presentations by the students were also shared, with hopes of sparking deeper thinking and debate towards the problem of equality within society.
We hope that this year’s symposium provided all attendees with a meaningful and memorable experience!
