Founders’ Day 2026
The school community gathered to commemorate Founders’ Day with a series of purposeful activities.
As part of our school’s commitment to giving back, all C1 and C2 classes embodied the value of 饮水思源 by assembling care packs filled with essential household items. These were distributed to beneficiaries in need through our partner, the Chinese Development Assistance Council (CDAC).
Our C1 students also began the day with a spring cleaning session, working hand in hand to care for their shared spaces. This act reflected the very spirit of community that Founders’ Day celebrates.
Building on this spirit, our interim CT representatives also took the lead in guiding their classes through a lesson package, deepening conversations around community needs and how we can play a part in addressing them.
They further deepened their understanding of service through a workshop conducted by CDAC, where they learnt more about the needs of beneficiaries. Students also explored the Learning Festival booths set up around the school, which showcased diverse ground-up initiatives by our seniors and highlighted the importance of empathy and community care.
In the High School section, our students stepped out to serve the community through diverse VIA initiatives.
S1 and selected S4 classes partnered Reduce @ Northwest to promote sustainable living, while S2 students distributed “Brighten Your Day” packs to spread kindness. S3 students engaged with the elderly in community homes and in school, and nine S4 classes worked with SATA CommHealth to teach seniors how to monitor their blood pressure.
The commemorations concluded with the VIA Council and student volunteers distributing Founders’ Day Food Drive contributions to residents in need across Singapore.
Altogether, Founders’ Day was a meaningful celebration of our shared values, bringing the Hwa Chong family closer through service, reflection, and collective purpose.
