Special Awards Presentation Ceremony 2026

The Special Awards Presentation Ceremony celebrates the achievements of students across schools and institutions, recognising their diverse accomplishments in both academic and non-academic domains. Senior Minister of State for Education, Dr Janil Puthucheary, presented the awards at the ceremony held on 31 August 2026 at the National University of Singapore’s University Cultural Centre.

This year, a total of 22 current and former students from Hwa Chong Institution were awarded the Prime Minister's Book Prize, The Lee Kuan Yew Award for All-Round Excellence, The Lee Kuan Yew Award for Mathematics and Science and the The Lee Hsien Loong Award for Outstanding Bicultural Students.

Among the recipients was our outstanding alumna, Ms Huang Xiang Yi Vanessa, who was recognised for her bilingual and bicultural proficiency. Vanessa was awarded both the Prime Minister’s Book Prize and the Lee Hsien Loong Award for Outstanding Bicultural Students, a notable recognition of her achievements in both areas.
