Hwa Chong’s Scouts Dedicated to Service

11 Dec 2017

The President’s Scout Award is the highest honour bestowed on the nation’s Venture Scouts in  recognition of their all-rounded development, excellent performance and dedicated service to the  wider community and Scouting Movement. This year, two Hwa Chong students were conferred the prestigious award by the patron of the Singapore Scout Association, President Halimah Yacob at the Istana.

We would like to extend our congratulations to these students: Ang Chun Teck (16S61) and Ang Le Shaun (16S63).

Ang Chun Teck shares that his personal motto as a scout is to “improvise, adapt and overcome.” Drawing important lessons from his scouting experiences, Ang Le Shaun also shares that he would like to “thank his scouting members and all the friends he has made along the journey.”

As of December 2017, HCI has produced 121 President’s Scouts.

Left to Right:

Dr Hon Chiew Weng, Principal/HCI; Ang Chun Teck; Ang Le Shaun; Mr Antong Shahrudin, Chief Commissioner, Singapore Scout Association; Dr Jeffrey Ho, Deputy Chief Commissioner, Singapore Scout Association
