Hwa Chongian’s Tenacity Pays Off
We would like to congratulate the following athletes on setting new records at the Games:
Wang Tingjia, who came in second and set a new schools’ national record with a javelin throw of 59.76 m.
Sia Jun Wei who came in second for the 5000 m walk and set a new schools’ national record of 22:44:48.
Wu Xinyao (17S74) who broke the 3000m Walk Schools National Records during April’s National Inter-Schools’ Track and Field Championships. She has subsequently improved on that record during the recent ASEAN Schools Games, where she, amid the gruelling competition, emerged as one of the two gold medalists for the Singapore team in Athletics.
