On 30 June 2017, the National Police Cadet Corps cadets participated in the finals of the .22 Revolver Shooting Competition held at the Home Team Academy. The competition involves participants firing the .22” (caliber) revolver at two types of targets across three stages, with varying distances and timings.

Out of 129 schools and 713 students, the Hwa Chong team emerged champions. This was no mean feat as they have clinched the championship 6 times during the past 9 years in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2016 and this year.
