Hwa Chong Students Awarded the Promising Young Leader Award

01 Apr 2016

The Promising Young Leader Award awarded by the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) aims to recognize young talent who have not only achieved excellence in academic performance, but also demonstrated exemplary qualities such as resilience, innovation and active service to their school and community. These outstanding youth receive a cash award of $3000 each and have priority consideration for the EDB Amoeba 3-D Experience - an attachment program that allows them to work on real-life proposals while learning from other EDB officers. Program participants also have access to closed door dialogues and sharing sessions on pressing economic issues with EDB’s Senior Management and illustrious alumni in both the private and public sector.

As Bryan Yan Kai Jie (15A14) mentioned:
"I am very thankful for being a recipient of the award. The award opens up great opportunities for me to explore a career in economics and finance - in line with what I want to pursue."

Cheong Jia Yang, Alex (15S7D) shared that:
“I am honoured and humbled to be awarded this prize and would like to thank my teachers and parents for their support and guidance every step of the way. Going forward, I will continue striving for excellence, contributing to the community as best as I can”
