General

On 19 May 2017, Hwa Chong Institution received the Public Service Premier Award. One of the most prestigious of all public service awards, the Award was given to two organisations this year in recognition of their continuous endeavours to achieve and maintain supreme levels of organisational excellence. HCI is proud to be the only educational institution receiving the Award this year.

Dr Hon Chiew Weng, Principal, Hwa Chong Institution, received the award on behalf of the school from Mr Teo Chee Hean, Deputy Prime Minister & Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister-in-charge of the Civil Service.

Dr Hon said, “This award is an affirmation of the important work we do in nurturing young leaders for our nation. It is also testament to the strength of our research culture and global network of partners and alumni. Indeed, the award would not have been possible without the tireless contributions of our team of enterprising and dedicated staff. It is my pleasure to work alongside such a strong team, whose constant self-renewal makes this institution such an exciting place to work in. We are thankful to all our partners, including parents and alumni, who have supported us unconditionally all these years. We are also appreciative of the clear direction and autonomy given by our Board and by MOE. Together we have built, and will continue to build, a school that is future-ready.”
