THE HCI ADVANTAGE
Gifted And Talented Education (GATE) Programme
A Passion-Driven Programme for the Gifted and Talented Students
GATE is a new initiative that was started in 2013. On top of the A-Level curriculum, GATE students can choose to accelerate and deepen their learning in a particular subject. Furthermore, they will be engaged in diverse fields through elective modules.
GATE students attend all prescribed modules and at least 30 hours of electives. The specially-designed electives are conducted by professors from universities, both locally and overseas, as well as our specially-trained teachers. Some of these electives include
• Stanford International Youth Program (California, USA)
• Yale Young Global Scholars (Connecticut, USA)
• Creative Problem Solving in Mathematics and Science
• Mathematical Modelling of the Physical World Using Differential Equations
• Theory of Knowledge
• Introduction to Law
• Financial Literacy
Through customised talent development programmes, individuals are empowered to take ownership of their own learning, broaden their passion, and deepen their mastery.
In addition, they receive a character education which encourages them to work with the community through global community outreach and service-learning initiatives.
