Direct School Admission DSA–JC Exercise

For Admission to JC1

 Updated on 30 April 2019

The mission of Hwa Chong Institution (HCI) is to develop leaders in research, industry and government. The school’s Integrated Programme (IP) is designed to provide holistic education by broadening students’ educational experience and maximise their learning opportunities.
Direct School Admission allows a diverse range of talents to be recognized in student admission. We are looking for promising Sec 4 students who are currently studying in mainstream Singapore schools who demonstrate any of the following:

  1. strong intellectual and scholastic potential;
  2. leadership potential with character qualities like integrity, resilience, passion and compassion.
  3. outstanding talent in sports or performing arts

To ensure that students fully benefit from our IP, they will be assessed on their demonstrated and potential qualities, beyond mere academic ability.

Successful applicants will be offered a place in Hwa Chong at the start of January of the academic year. Once a student has accepted the DSA offer, he/she will not take part in the Joint Admission Exercise (JAE). They will be assured of a place in the school on the condition that they satisfy the minimum criterion for admission to junior college based on their GCE O-Level result.
